2 Months and beyond

Wow, so much has happened this month as our little man seems to be changing every day. As Bradley is approaching his 3 month birthday it's hard to believe how far he's come since birth.

At his 2 month appointment he weighed 13 lbs 10 oz which was a weight gain of 3 lbs since 1 month. The doc said he likes to see at least a 2 lb gain so Bradley is already an over achiever! He is 23 3/4 inches long and that puts him in the 77th percentile in weight and the 87th percentile in height.

New developments: Bradley's personality. He really is a smiler. He smiles all the time now in response to other smiles and being talked to. He also likes to talk back. He has so much to say. His favorite sound to make is the "Ohh" sound with his little mouth in the shape of a circle.

He is holding his head up now when he is on his belly. His favorite tummy time toy to look at is the glow worm. I think he likes it's big eyes.

He is tracking voices and movement now too which is so cool. When daddy gets home from work and starts talking, immediately Bradley's head starts looking around to find him. After nursing Bradley the other day when he was still in his milk coma, I lifted him up and put him in Ben's arms to burp him. Bradley was unaware of the change until Ben said something and Bradley immediately picked his head up with a confused look on his face as in , "Huh? Wherd da mommy go?"

Thumb sucking! I've definitely got a thumb sucker on my hands. He used to prefer only the left thumb however he is now turning into an equal opportunity thumb sucker.

Sleep! Oh thank you sleep! Or I should say thank you Bradley. He has been consistently sleeping through the night or waking only once to eat and going right back down. He's even gone 11-7, 11-8, and 10:30-7:30. It's wonderful. I chalk it up to 1)Being a little on the "chubbier" side and being able to stay full longer through the night and 2)Swaddling. I tried one night not to swaddle his whole body and left his arms out free and that was a no-go. After an hour of waking himself up and me putting the paci back in his mouth I finally swaddled his arms and all was good.
His eyes are the brightest blue I've ever seen and his little hairs are starting to fall off his head. I've really started to notice all the little brown hairs now in his crib and on his changing table where his head goes.

We are enjoying every day with him! I cannot believe we almost have a 3 month old!

2 Months

It is quit amazing how much Bradley has changed in the past month. I am not just talking appearance here. Yes, we can see he is getting nice a chubby because he is such a "healthy" eater, however, we won't get a scale reading until his appointment in 2 days. He is changing so much in personality and development.

He was always a smiley baby, but now he smiles when smiled at, talked to, or when you are chewing food as he finds that to be very entertaining. He also likes to hold conversations now. He mostly likes to talk when he is on his back and we are over top of him talking to him. He coo's so loudly you just know he has something very important to say. We also found it to be hilarious when the first night after he starting cooing, we swaddled him and laid him on his back for bedtime and he woke up and starting blabbering away. He must of thought it was time to talk because he was on his back.

He is also finding his hand now and even a few times has found his thumb! As you can see in the pictures he is always favoring his left hand so could he be a lefty? We'll have to wait and see. He is also trying to hold his head up now on his own. He does a great job when he is up on your shoulder of holding his head up straight. We starting putting him in the bumpo seat for a few minutes at a time to help him strengthen his neck. We put him on his belly for tummy time but he would much rather lay there and suck his hand then practice lifting his head.

Nights are getting better and better so I really feel lucky. Some nights he'll only go 4 hours before waking up but others he'll go 6 hours, and once he went 7. I think that's really good for only being 8 weeks old.

He is just so expressive and such a happy baby that I can't help but smile every second I'm with him. This is the best job in the world and now I know the reason behind me wanting to be a mom my whole life...this little guy!
